About Melodie

Crazy as it sounds, the 8 years I spent struggling with infertility led me to a fabulous job and a masters degree that laid the groundwork for me to be able to eventually begin a successful entrepreneurial journey once my children finally came (yep - now I’ve got FOUR kiddos under 10, and I’m as surprised at that number as anyone)!

Q.A With Melodie

1. What inspired you to become a Virtual Assistant?

When I entered the Captivation Hub community, I quickly realized that I was picking up on using the software much more quickly than many others - having used similar softwares before, I suppose that was to be expected. Then I also realized that even when people did figure out how to create their funnels and workflows, they often FROZE when it came time to write their emails. Having years of experience in copywriting and building out email automations for my other businesses, I found that I had a skill to offer that people really valued. Now I love helping other people move forward with confidence in their business goals by working behind the scenes to make sure their sales pages are built correctly and their messaging is clear!

2. What's the Most Unusual or Fun Task You've Ever handled as a VA?

I had a client who's target audience was empty nesters, and I was tasked with creating her marketing copy to address their pain points. As a mom of 4 small children, it was fun and eye-opening to dive into that persona and see life through a completely different lens by speaking as someone on the other end of raising children.

3. If you could have an ideal client, what would they be like?

My ideal client has a clear idea of their goals, and appreciates my input on the strategy they could implement to reach them. I particularly love crafting email campaigns and IG content that take leads to buyers, and then buyers to repeat customers! And if they need me to create some visually appealing graphics or templates, I enjoy doing that type of creative work, too.

4. What's your favorite Productivty Tool or App, and Why?

Canva has been my go-to tool for years! I love its drag-and-drop simplicity and its versatility - if I can dream it, I can create it in Canva. I also love Trello as a tool for organizing my overabundance of ideas, and for keeping track of projects and to-dos. And I use ChatGPT/Bard daily as brainstorming partners, proofreaders, and content creators for a lot of the work I do.

5. If you could pick any place in the world as your virtual office, where would it be any why?

I'm really a bloom-where-you're-planted type of girl. Location in the world doesn't matter nearly as much to me as who I'm with. As long as my kiddos and husband are around, I can be happy anywhere. I will say I'm not a fan of sand, and I would like a pickleball court nearby!

6. What is one thing most people find challenging that you LOVE to help people with?

Writing email and IG content and implementing an overall marketing strategy!! And I learn software programs quickly, so I'm happy to build funnels, automations, calendars, etc.
